The main objective of the Software Awareness Program – Interior Design was to introduce students to the interior design industry and its growing demand. The workshop aimed to help students understand the importance of industry-used design tools and why 2D and 3D software are essential in professional interior design work. Another objective was to provide hands-on experience with AutoCAD and SketchUp, enabling students to build a strong foundation in technical and practical design skills.
The Software Awareness Program – Interior Design was conducted as a one-day free workshop at the Skill Book Skill Development Centre on 09 November 2025, starting from 09:00 AM onwards. The workshop was attended by 21 students from the Interior Design and Decoration trade of ITI Pusa, Delhi, who participated with great enthusiasm and interest.
The workshop began with an introduction to the interior design industry, its current demand, and career opportunities. Students were made aware of the most commonly used design tools in the industry and the reasons for their importance. The session then focused on practical learning, where students created a 2D building plan using AutoCAD and designed a 3D TV panel using SketchUp. Through these activities, students learned the fundamentals of AutoCAD and 3D software SketchUp and understood the importance of both 2D and 3D software in professional interior design work.
The program was highly interactive and included a complete hands-on session, allowing students to apply what they learned in real time. The overall student mood remained light, happy, and excited, as they enjoyed learning new skills and gaining practical exposure. The workshop successfully provided valuable industry insight, technical knowledge, and practical experience, making it a meaningful and enjoyable learning experience for all participants.
Students shared very positive feedback about the workshop. They found the session interesting, easy to understand, and highly practical. Students enjoyed creating 2D building plans and 3D TV panel designs during the hands-on session. Many students said that the workshop helped them clearly understand how AutoCAD and SketchUp are used in real interior design projects. Overall, students felt happy, excited, and motivated to learn more about design software and the interior design field.
The Software Awareness Program – Interior Design was successfully conducted and achieved its objectives. The workshop provided students with valuable knowledge about the design industry and practical exposure to important software tools. The hands-on activities helped students gain confidence and clarity about using 2D and 3D design software. Positive participation and feedback from students highlighted the success of the event.
