The main objective of the CAD Workshop was to provide practical knowledge of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) to ITI students. The workshop aimed to improve students’ drafting and design skills and to help them understand the use of CAD software in the mechanical and manufacturing industry. The program was designed to enhance technical skills and improve job readiness among students.
Instrainée Education Foundation successfully organized a seven-day CAD Workshop for Tools and Die (2nd Year) students of ITI Pusa from 17 January 2026 to 23 January 2026. A total of 15 students actively participated in the workshop.
The workshop was conducted in a structured and step-by-step manner to ensure clear understanding of concepts.
Day 1:
Introduction to drafting and basic design concepts. Students learned about drawing standards, lines, dimensions, and basic layouts.
Day 2:
Introduction to AutoCAD software and 2D designing. Students practiced basic commands and created simple 2D drawings.
Day 3:
Isometric projection. Students learned how to convert 2D drawings into isometric views.
Day 4:
Basics of 3D modeling. Students were introduced to 3D tools and learned simple 3D shapes.
Day 5:
3D modeling of mechanical components. Students designed basic mechanical parts related to their trade.
Throughout the workshop, students were encouraged to ask questions and practice hands-on exercises to strengthen their understanding.
N/A
The workshop had a positive impact on both students and teachers. Students showed great interest and actively participated in all sessions. They gained confidence in using AutoCAD and understood how CAD skills are useful in their trade.
ITI teachers appreciated the practical approach of the workshop and felt that it added value to the students’ technical knowledge. They observed improvement in students’ understanding of drafting and mechanical design concepts.
